Governance

We are an unincorporated association governed by a constitution. The Society’s management is vested in our Council, comprising four Office Bearers, ten elected members, each of whom hold office for up to five years, and up to three co-opted members.

The publication programme is the responsibility of the Literary Director and the administration that of the Secretary and Treasurer. Please see Office Bearers for a listing of the members of our Council.

Our annual report and accounts are prepared and examined in accordance with the relevant legislation and regulations applying to Scottish charities

The Society was formed on 17 November 1934. Our Constitution was adopted in its present form at the Society's Annual General Meeting on 19 November 2016
